The prize ONCE Solidarity concecido serving European and Youth Exchange Program in recognition of the work that the Youth Council of the City of Murcia has been doing with people with sensory disabilities.
The eighth edition of Solidarity Murcia ONCE delivered tonight at a gala to be held at the Teatro Circo, from 20.00.
Among the winners is the city of Torre Pacheco, Onda Regional, Regional Rep. Thomas Violante and the Bookshelf Diego Marin.
European and Youth Exchange Programs works with ONCE in the European Volunteering Project, through which five young Europeans have made visually impaired volunteer in the city of Murcia, and 6 visually impaired young Murcia's been made abroad.
In 2009/2010 it developed the project 'Information and active citizenship: a strategy for the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities', coordinated by the city of Murcia, ONCE and FESORMU, with the cooperation of the City of Mexico and the financing of the Commission European, involving about 60 young people with sensory disabilities (blind and deaf) 8 Murcia organizations, Brussels (Belgium), Turin and Vicenza (Italy), Paris (France), Mexico City (Mexico), San Isidro (Argentina), Cali (Colombia) and Cuenca (Ecuador).
The goal was to adapt the information of the different youth councils and groups to people with disabilities.
Also, visually impaired youth participate in clubs Languages ​​Youth Council organizes and hosts a ONCE Language Club, in collaboration with the city of Murcia.
