IU-Greens Environment requires acting forcefully to the destruction of protected olmeda Aljucer (14/09/2013)

The spokesman for IU-Greens in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, today demanded the Department of Environment to act "quickly and strongly" to the "new attack" that has occurred in Aljucer against municipal heritage protected trees.

Herguedas remember that, both through its representative in the Municipal Board in Aljucer as meetings for the development of Woodland Protection Ordinance, its formation has warned Environment responsible for running this olmeda risk and need to activate all the mechanisms to prevent what has now happened to logging of at least thirty copies of elms which are a protected species.

For the mayor, it is "regrettable" that in such a short space of time have produced two such significant logging in the vicinity of the ditches.

"These facts suggest that no one who believes it can continue to act outside the law without much problem."

He also noted that in addition to purify the relevant responsibilities of this case, the City is required to curb these behaviors, acting forcefully and the full extent of the law, "but mostly failing to protect those who to drive this such acts, as with the current president of the Board of Landowners and Santa Cruz headman appointed by the mayor Sigifredo Hernandez, who can not continue to protect from the hall ".
