López: "The choice of Murcia to celebrate European Mobility Week is an insult to the intelligence of Murcia" (13/09/2013)

Socialist spokesman, Pedro López, considered "highly appropriate" European Parliament's decision to choose Murcia to celebrate Mobility Week 16 to September 22, so we're going to ask this European institution on the reasons why who have made this decision.

"It seems a joke, especially when the capital of the region is the exponent of the opposite goal, the antimovilidad".

In this sense, Lopez lay hold to data referring to the report of the INE (National Statistics Institute) reflecting that the Region of Murcia has been the second biggest drop in the number of bus travelers in the country.

This drop can be extrapolated to the municipality of Murcia where public transportation Lopez-complaint is still experiencing continuous setbacks, with populations that have been isolated, such as Ermita del Rosario, and La Murta Aljucer.

Furthermore, the Socialist Party spokesman recalls that transport mismanagement continues PP, with Councilman Iniesta to head cuts lines, frequency decreases, strikes, more expensive services in the districts, loss of some 64,000 travelers from that occurred on the city bus transfer to the current concessionaire, among other issues.

Another key issue, according to Lopez, and antimovilidad obvious example of that is breathed in Murcia is the bicycle.

The municipality has been suspended, according to a report from the OCU, road safety, ranking November 8 cities analyzed in this regard.

"Smoke, smoke and more smoke is what sells municipal PP," criticizes the Socialist spokesman, who maintains that "in Murcia mobility and environment absent, although logging prevails".
