The City Council joins the agreement for the creation of a social fund housing for families evicted for non-payment of the mortgage (20/04/2013)

The City Council joins the agreement signed by the Ministry of Development, Economy and Competitiveness; health, Social Services and Equality, Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, and economic and social, for the creation of a social fund aimed at housing homeless families by defaulting on their mortgages and social situation of special vulnerability.

The municipal housing service will offer information to people who request and forwarded to the applicants housing credit institutions, which are the owners of the houses.

This national convention is born due to the increase in the number of families who can not pay their mortgages and have suffered eviction from their homes.

Through this agreement, the financial sector creates social housing fund, composed of about 6,000 homes across Spain, for those evicted for non-payment of the mortgage and a particularly vulnerable.

The homes of financial institutions are offered for rent, with prices ranging from 150 to 400 euros / month.

The lease shall be two years, renewable for another year.

To access this rent, the eviction was due production from January 1, 2008, the total revenue of the household must not exceed three times the Public Indicator of Multiple Effect Income, and no member must have home ownership.

Also, take into account circumstances such as families, single parent with children unit, family unit with a child up to 3 years, family unit in which one of its members has a disability greater than 33%, a situation of dependence or illness, that meeting the mortgagor is unemployed and have exhausted benefits, victims of domestic violence, etc..

Applications shall be sent to the credit institution mortgage holder whose default has caused the eviction.

Applications will be assessed by financial institutions.

Murcia City Council shall advise and inform those who request, issue a report on the suitability of families (at the behest of the credit institution), work with banks and disseminate and inform citizens about this procedure .
