The University of Murcia yesterday celebrated the awards to the top three finishers in the regional phase of the Chemistry Olympiad, which will represent the region in the national phase, to be held in Alicante from 26 to 28 April.

First Fombella Pedrero has been Joseph, Jesus Maria College Alfonso X, followed by Guillermo Molina Alías Carrascosa and Paula Martinez, both of Marist College Merced.

In the XVIII Olympiad Chemistry of the Region participated 158 students from thirty-three secondary schools.

It has also been known the names of the winners of the Third Regional Geography Olympiad, whose tests were developed in the Social Center of the University of Murcia in early March.

The first prize went to Gonzalo Linares Matas, Jesus Mary College, while the second was for David Lucas Martinez, IES Saavedra Fajardo, and the third for Aida Bernabe Hernandez, IES Floridablanca.

The three will compete in the national phase, which will be in Madrid on 13 and 14 April.
