The White Majal unveils its own Visitor Center (11/03/2013)

There are no excuses for insight into the secrets of Majal Blanco.

The Department of Environment has released today the new Visitor Center that occupies the space of the Nature Classroom Majal Blanco.

The center, which is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.30 to 14 hours from the same weekend, aims to explain in an entertaining and interactive cultural and ecological values ​​of the Municipal Park Majal Blanco, one of the environments most visited natural and best preserved of the municipality, in the Regional Park of El Valle and Carrascoy.

Also, being within the Biosphere Reserve of the Sierras and Campo de Murcia, in which case the statement is achieved by Unesco this new facility will become the focal point and center of the country Owl

The building of the new facility is an old house built in stone and renovated, which has now been retrofitted to new role as an exhibition space.

The room that houses the Visitor Center consists of about 80 square meters divided into two levels.

Through information panels and other technological resources, is made a tour of the environmental and cultural values ​​of the area starting with an overview of the Majal Blanco via satellite in a large photograph that overlap the different paths of small route that traverse the Municipal Park.

Alongside this satellite picture, a viewer can observe the scenery of the area in 3D by anaglifa photography.

The review of the geological history of Majal Blanco culminates with a small exhibition of real fossils, you can touch and look closely through magnifying glasses.

Wildlife pane highlight the tracks left by different animals besides interactively to hear the song of birds in the area, including the majestic eagle owl.

A large double-sided sliding puzzle tests the skill of the visitors in the panel dedicated to Ecology.

In the area of ​​the track, you can visit a slideshow with a recreation backlit mixed Mediterranean forest, several consoles Q & Flora, and a rotating wheel that reports on the work of managing the farm environment that is from Murcia City Hall.

The cycle ends with the wistful story of the ancient inhabitants of the home in which the center is located, which was explained as their daily lives.

In the construction of the exhibition has worked with materials that respect the environment, which means, among other things, the use of CFC certified wood from sustainable forests.

Similarly LED technology is used for all illumination of the room by high performance bulbs and reduced power consumption, which are fed primarily by solar panels.
