The 4th edition of the International Film Festival of Murcia IBAFF will launch today a luxury with a screening of Like Someone in Love, Abbas Kiarostami latest film.
Filmed in Japan and presented at last year's Cannes festival, is the second film that the director rolls out of Iran.
After the critical and commercial success reaped by Certified Copy, a film that was included in the program last year's IBAFF, Kiarostami returns with a new drama that delves into romantic relationships with his unique narrative style.
"For the brand is proud IBAFF Like Someone in Love in our country, and it is also having the presence of its director, Abbas Kiarostami, who is already in our city by providing the second edition of The Abbas Kiarostami Film Seminar", has said Marta Lopez-Briones, director of the festival.
Like Someone in Love will be screened today at 21:00 at the Regional Film Archive Francisco Rabal.
This is the first in a series of films that comprise "Selecting IBAFF", an exhibition by the festival itself to allow the public to enjoy the film concerning this year, some of them unpublished in Spain or in our city, and that have been critically acclaimed and award-winning international or programmed in other international festivals.
Alongside Like Someone in Love, Abbas Kiarostami, are part of "Selecting IBAFF" works of filmmakers Eloy Enciso, Natche Ahmad (both members of the jury), Juan Carlos Rulfo and Natalia Gil, Miguel Gomes, Jaime Rosales, Victor Erice.
The film follows "IBAFF Selection" will be screened on Thursday, March 7 at the Cultural Hall of CAM.
It's "The Dream of Light" by Victor Erice, and its projection is part of the First International Film School.
That same day, at 19 pm will screen 250 meters Carrière Mexican Juan Carlos Rulfo in Hall B of the Regional Film Archive.
On Friday 8 is the turn of two meters of this land, Natche Ahmad, (17:00 h); Arraianos, Eloy Enciso (19:00 h.) And Sleep and silence, Jaime Rosales (21:00 h) .
"Selecting IBAFF" closes on Saturday, March 9 at 17:00 with Tabu by Miguel Gomes, one of the most acclaimed films by critics this year.
All of them are projected onto the Regional Film Archive.
All films in this section also will be eligible for the Audience Award, awarded by the audience attending the screenings of each film.
32 high quality jobs in the Official compete this year
On Monday March 4 projections will start the official section of this year's IBAFF, involving 32 titles from more than 200 submissions received from countries around the world.
The official competition section this time is divided into four categories: feature film and documentary, awarded 3,000 and 2,000 euros respectively, and short fiction and documentary, with a prize of 1,000 each.
The first day begins in Room A of the Regional Film Archive with a block of four feature films, two shorts and two feature films.
The short Abbwesenheit (absence) of Spanish Ramón Lez will kick off at 17:00 h.
A feature film will follow the lonely planet (USA-Germany) by Julia Loktev, starring Gael Garcia-Bernal.
At 19:00 pm in Room B of the Cinematheque will screen the French short film La Vie Parisienne, followed by Vincent Dietschy izlet Slovenian, Nejc Gazvoda.
Programming the official section continues until Friday 8 March in the Regional Film Archive Francisco Rabal.
By category, competing seven feature films, nine short films, and the documentary section, 6 feature films and 10 short films.
