The UCAM opened the XII edition of the International Conference of Charity and Volunteering (26/02/2013)

The Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) has opened this evening at the Temple of Jeronimos Monastery, the XII International Charity and Volunteering under the title 'The peace and the promotion of the people'.

The event, which this year coincides with the 50th anniversary of the publication of the encyclical "Pacem in Terris", has benefited from the intervention of the Government Delegate of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Joaquin Bascuñana, the Vice Chancellor of University Extension the UCAM, and director of the International Institute of Charity and Volunteering 'John Paul II', Antonio Alcaraz, the rector of International Relations and Communication of the university, Paul Blesa, and the coordinator of the Volunteer Service UCAM, Rainer Gehrig .

The delegate of the Government of the CARM, Joaquin Bascuñana, gave the inaugural lecture that has been on 'Pax Shalom.

Etymological and semantic evolution of the term peace '.

Bascuñana recalled passing through several editions of the conference and congratulated the Catholic University of Murcia for holding them.

During his speech, the delegate of the Government of the CARM has developed etymologically the meaning of peace.

For his part, the Vice Chancellor of the University Extension UCAM, Antonio Alcaraz, recalled the essence on which they are based from the start this conference.

In addition, the director of the International Institute of Charity and Volunteering 'John Paul II', has been reported that "solidarity never gets old, and currently is something we all present. The rector of International Relations and Communication at the Catholic University of Murcia, Pablo Blesa, highlighted the work of the UCAM favor of charity, peace and harmony.

"In that sense I think that the University has done work worth underlining. UCAM has involved thousands of people in hundreds of projects in dozens of countries, to help make peace through solidarity," he qualified Pablo Blesa.
