Murcia City Council continues to focus on youth participation and the promotion of associations.

The Consistory approved the cooperation agreement with the Local Youth Council, to carry out activities and programs for youth.

The aim of the agreement is holding spurring partnership programs and youth participation, and managing municipal youth resource centers 585m2 and El Palmar.

The Local Youth Council is a representative body of youth associations in the municipality, which is intended to serve as a channel partner and youth participation in the political, social, economic and cultural development of the municipality.

The Youth Council continues with the planning, dissemination and development of plans and activities to promote youth participation, and promotion of associations; ensure the proper functioning of youth centers; encourage youth involvement and active participation in as many municipality resources; and develop policies for advice and information on issues of interest to youth (employment, education, housing, etc.).

The Local Youth Council is responsible for the management of municipal centers 585m2, in the Santa Maria de Gracia, which reported in 2012 a participation of 60,000 young people, and El Palmar, with the presence of 1,200 young people each week .

The Council also promotes Murcia Total card, free for youth 12 to 36 years, with the aim of offering discounts on training and leisure activities for young people, shops, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, shops and services.
