The Socialist Group in plenary will require the construction of sidewalks and bike lanes on the stretch of South Round between James the Greater and Progress (23/02/2013)

The Socialist mayor José Zapata Group regrets that the PP does not take account of the points of the motion in the past defended asking plenary building sidewalks to ensure the safety of pedestrians passing through the Ronda Sur, in the stretch between the junction of Santiago El Mayor and El Progreso, and the Glorieta de Ronda Sur and Avenida de Los Dolores.

Therefore, Zapata will file a motion in Parliament this month asking the PP of La Glorieta to launch the drafting of a technical project execution sidewalks and bike lanes on this segment of the road, and that once stood , are tendered and executed these works to improve the quality of life and road safety of the residents of Santiago El Mayor, El Progreso, Patiño, Infante Don Juan Manuel and Ronda Sur urbanization.

The PSOE councilor remember that if for any reason it cut off the pedestrian pathways in Santiago El Mayor, pedestrians from this neighborhood, urbanization Ronda Sur, Patino and Progress would not have a safe pedestrian crossing railroad tracks, so it would be forced to move up the road to Santa from El Palmar, at the height of St. Pius to do so.

Finally, Zapata warns that cycle on Ronda Sur is a risky sport.

"If bikes and are inherently unstable vehicles circulating, this increased risk, especially when cyclists have to climb a slope as exists in South Round to move from side to side of the bridge over the tracks ".
