The installation of 11 new reliefs Campillo Park become one of the most important sculptural spaces in Spain (22/02/2013)

They are splendid bronze pieces, symbolizing the crafts and traditions of Huerta.

The reliefs will be donated to the city and can be admired in the coming weeks.

The park will expand its funding to 21 works only two years after its opening.

The installation in the Park Campillo eleven reliefs Murcia sculptor remembered this space become one of the outdoor sculpture exhibition highlights of Spain.

The works, which will be donated to the city by the legatee of Campillo, Juan Perez Ferra, so who does the will of the author, are cast in bronze and have dimensions ranging between 1.64 X0, 46 meters and 1.40 x1, 00 meters.

The total value of the works, whose donation has been managed through MurciaEscultura program, would reach 200,000.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the project's Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, President of the Foundation Antonio Campillo, Clemente Garcia, the legatee of the play, Juan Perez Ferra, and the Councillor for Culture, Rafael Gomez.

The negotiations for the extension of the park began after the inauguration of the space in November 2010, finding that aroused the interest of many Murcia, lovers of art and literature, while becoming major attraction for tourists visiting the city .

Mayor Chamber, stressed that "with these new works, artistic value and importance which is sufficiently proved, the sculptor wanted to pay homage to the ancient crafts of the city and the garden and recognize the history and traditions Murcia".

The presentation ceremony was also attended by the President of the Foundation Antonio Campillo, Clemente Garcia, and Juan Perez Ferra.

High artistic quality

So far, the Sculpture Park and Antonio Campillo had nine sculptures, along with a splendid portrait of the sculptor in bronze, the work of his pupil, Marta Balmaseda.

Among the works that make up the current park are typical representations of the teacher on women Campillo Murcia, in bronze by a foundry Madrid.

The pieces have dimensions ranging between 1.35 and 2.10 meters.

The author himself named each of his creations with names such as The Locust, The Cansera, Tribute to Women Murciana, defying the wind or Coscaletas.

The importance of these pieces lies in the artistic quality of each, selected by Antonio Campillo as examples of his sculptural.

All are cataloged and have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Spain and abroad.

The installation of the new relief will provide the city's most important public sculpture park on the national scene, both for its size and with its quality, with a total of 21 works by the author.
