The Carmen Municipal Center is hosting an exhibition on the art of bobbin lace (15/02/2013)

The craftsmanship that holds the Association of Friends of Murcia Bolillo may be exposed in the Culture Center Carmen from next February 18.

The exhibition, which will open on Monday at 19 pm, hosts a large number of works produced by artisans through the work of textile lace.

Bobbin lace is a handmade lace interlacing threads on a pillow made following a previously drawing on cardboard or chopped.

The historical origin of lace is usually set in the mid-sixteenth century and supposedly born in Venice.

But we must go back to the ancient civilizations of the East to find their first traces.
