The Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the University of Murcia today presented the project Convalescence REVAS, with the establishment of a public-private partnership with the Regional Government and the business sector in the region to coordinate a regional network volunteering and social action.

The "Regional Volunteer Network and Social Action" (REVAS), which aims to stimulate social action in the Region of Murcia, managed products (surplus donations from companies or individuals), time (corporate volunteer, student or volunteer practices civil) and money (donations, sponsorships, etc..).

The project is funded by the Foundation Cajamurcia, whose manager, Pascual Martinez, after signing the cooperation agreement with the University Rector, Jose Antonio Cobacho, said that the network intends to be "meeting place for proposals from NGOs who need help one hand, and on the other, citizens, businesses and administrations that are able and willing to help. "

The director of the RSC Chair, Professor Marin Longinus, said that "the plight of NGOs and government, together with the interest of the Chair to help society, as an added value to the founding objectives of research, training and awareness related to CSR, is the engine that has driven us to bring this project. "

Maribel Sanchez-Mora, Vice President for Students and Employment, stressed, meanwhile, the possibility that the network offers to work with people outside the University, "which will give us a different view of things and we will help meet one of the purposes of the Vice President, as is the integral formation of the students. "

The project will be coordinated by members of the Chair Sylvia Lopez Meseguer Davis and Victor Sanchez, who has indicated that "society needs examples at a time, like today, of great uncertainty."

The event also involved the deputy of the PP in the Regional Assembly Violante Thomas, who pointed out that the project was a "crush" because "will reach the most vulnerable people," while it has been praised Cajamurcia for being receptive and supportive fund this initiative.
