The president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, reiterated today before the full Regional Assembly that his commitment to the underground AVE passing through Murcia "has not changed".

"I have not changed," remarked President Valcárcel, who stressed that "continues to maintain the same attitude that you have to bury the tracks and prevent further to separate parts of the city," he said.

Valcarcel said that in 2006 the regional government signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Public Works and ADIF for the arrival of the AVE to the region, but in the absence of action by the Government of Spain, then headed by José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, " the cost has increased year after year, without seeing progress in implementation ".

"For years no action was taken, no progress was made, not budgeted in Murcia, and when the Government of Spain, and ruled by the PP, decided to promote the arrival of the AVE, the cost of the work is much higher and much budgetary possibilities minors. "

In response, Valcarcel said that there are two possibilities: either provisional AVE station, located on the outskirts of the modern village of the city of Murcia or indefinite postponement until there soterrarlo budget.

"And this government, picking out the majority of society Murcia, wants the AVE in 2014, but not giving up his underground", added the regional chief executive, who recalled that this was the compromise reached after his last interview with the owner Development, Ana Pastor.

The president stressed that "a forceful enough 'public health forever' to sum up this Government's commitment to health, even though some people want to doubt it."

Valcarcel said that "a public health advocate who performed each year ten million attendances, which serves daily in their health centers to more than 50,000 people, and you get every day in its emergency room doors to more than 2,500 patients."

"We are committed, we believe, will continue to defend and defend public health against all odds, as this is an issue which precludes any interpretation, simply because this is the great commitment of regional government since 1995," insisted the president, for whom "we see many tides, but in the end there is something, that is the patient, who will continue going to schools to be attended by doctors."

Valcárcel also indicated that thanks to the measures taken in the last year by the regional government "is guaranteed the future of our health to continue as now, being public, universal, free and quality. Today we can say that the Health is in danger of not, "he added Valcárcel.

The President recalled the work on executive health, with actions such as the construction of new hospitals, the reorganization of the management of health areas to zoom in and coordinate primary and hospital care, computerization of the health care network and developing Plan for Rational Use of Drugs "that has allowed savings in pharmacy historical, between 2009 and 2011, more than 155 million euros."

In response to a question from the Socialist parliamentary group spokesman, President reeled off a series of data "real, true and true" that highlight the progress made by the Region of Murcia since 1995.

These referred to the labor force, GDP, residential places for elderly or disabled or child development centers and Early.

Thus, he stressed that the regional GDP has increased from 10.264 million euros in 1995 to 27,857 in 2011, "that is, the region of Murcia is the community with a higher annual growth, estimated at 10.7 percent compared to 8.6 percent of the national average. "

"This region is not, fortunately, you left us in 1995, although much remains to be done, because the crisis is crushing, but what is needed to overcome this situation is courage, ideas and enthusiasm, which the lacks PSOE and the PP to spare "settled Valcárcel referring to the question of the Socialist spokesman.
