The Municipal School Board held the last plenary of the year, chaired by the Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sanchez.

As is tradition, the meeting has made an assessment of the activities carried out and planned projects for 2013.

Education Councilwoman recalled that during 2012/2013 is scheduled to be held 60 activities within the program 'Know your City', with the participation of over 62,000 students, 179 schools.

In addition, the Department of Education has awarded 61 grants to Federations of Associations of Parents and Associations of Parents with the aim of extracurricular activities for students and training for parents.

During 2012 the Councillor for Education has been commissioned to preside Schooling Commission, which oversees the admissions process upperclassmen Infant and Primary Education public and private schools in the municipality.

The whole deal has been of 2,325 seats (93 units) in 56 centers.

The Commission has taken more than 240 applicants, have enrolled a total of 226 students, 146 are enrolled directly by the Commission and 80 to the same proposal.

Finally, the House has considered national holidays, regional and local, and has approved the non-school days 3, 4 and 5 April, coinciding with the Spring Festival.

Maria Dolores Sánchez has also presented the activities carried out during the Christmas holidays.

The Council is chaired by the Councillor for Education and consists of representatives of teachers of public and private education, through unions, representatives of Associations of Parents of Students, representatives of directors of public and private education, a representative Educational Administration and a staff representative Services Administration.
