The Malecón garden has 50 new species of native shrubs by the Friends of the Botanical Garden (27/10/2012)

The garden has Malecon this morning with 50 new species of native shrubs by planting conducted by the Association of Friends of the Garden of the Malecon, in two beds assigned by the Department of the Environment, and in which also participated Office volunteers and UMU Green Gilwell Scout group.

This has planted different species of aromatic shrubs such as rosemary, thyme and lavender esparto addition, riparian vegetation, oak and juniper, among others.

This activity is part of the restoration project of the Botanical Garden of Murcia which is making this association through an agreement with the council.

With the planting and maintenance of two collections of plants is to promote care for plants in landscaped areas and provide a natural and healthy activity for residents and friends of that garden, altruistically increasing the rich heritage of the Malecón Botanical Garden .

Among the objectives of the proposal is the promotion of botany and plant use, its teaching and its dissemination and defense heritage Malecon Botanical Garden and other natural spaces and gardens of the city, the municipality of Murcia and Region.

Actions have also been designed to sensitize the public on the need to be respectful of the public and to the environment in addition to the acquisition of healthy habits and others to spread the knowledge of plant diversity in the region and elsewhere the planet.
