The Socialist Group in plenary ask the City Council to locate a space and add value to the Railway Museum (21/07/2012)

The mayor of the Socialist Group Jose Zapata defend a motion in Parliament next Thursday asking the local PP suitable premises in the vicinity of El Carmen to locate the Railroad Museum of Murcia, installed since 1981, in pretty poor in the headquarters of the Association of Friends of the Railroad Murcia (AMAF) and that due to works for the arrival of the AVE should leave from September.

According to members of this Association have been several municipalities of the Region that have shown interest in locating the said railway museum in their municipalities, which could, in the event of regrets Zapata-Murcia deprive a railroad museum dedicated symbol heritage, history and culture of our city.

Likewise, the Socialist councilor asked the City Council to urge the Government of Spain, Adif and CARM to take the commitment to divest the station's main building Murcia El Carmen Museum for use as railway on completion of work on the AVE, entrusting the control of these works to the Association of Friends of the Railway.
