Easter and Spring Festival arrive at the home for the elderly 'Virgen del Valle' (31/03/2012)

Internal users 'Virgen del Valle', located in the hamlet of El Palmar Murcia and Murcia under the Institute for Social Action (IMAS), enjoy between 3 and 12 April of a range of activities centered on the Easter and Spring Festival.

In this psychogeriatric center for older people with chronic mental illnesses develop programs geared to rehabilitation health of its users as to its standardization and integration into their environment.

For this reason, according to Senior Managing Director of IMAS, Enrique Perez Abellan, "it is important to offer various activities of an occupational nature, but also leisure."

Easter week

The program of activities for users of the center, which is prepared with participation from the March 20, includes a procession through the streets of El Palmar next Tuesday, April 3, from 11:00 hours.

Residents and school professionals participating in the procession wear traditional clothing Easter and will carry two thrones, built in their own residence, with the collaboration of users.

This activity, which is distributed sweets, also will join residents and staff at the Occupational Center 'Julio Lopez Ambit'.

On April 4, a group of internal users 'Virgen del Valle' will move to Orihuela to attend the procession of this region.

Similarly, on 8 April, will travel to Las Torres de Cotillas to attend the Easter Sunday procession.

Spring Festival

For the week of Spring Festival, the activities will focus on the days after the feast of the Bando de la Huerta.

On Wednesday, April 11, coinciding also with the output that holds monthly users of the center, a group of 30 residents will enjoy a typical meal huertana one of the shacks installed in the city of Murcia.

On April 12, from 11:00 am, held a big party huertana in the central courtyard of the residence.

For the occasion, motifs decorate this space huertanos and installed several places where you can purchase items made by artisans residents themselves.

The day program includes a performance by a folk group Cotillas Towers, the presence of a sardine, a symbolic burning of the sardine and a snack huertano for attendees.
