Sixty companies are presented for the construction of the first two sections of the second phase of the North Coast (30/03/2012)

This is the road linking the roundabout Ă‘ora with access to UCAM-Villages and the North Coast in Guadeloupe

Sixty companies have submitted bids for the construction of two sections of the North Coast.

The tender period ended today.

Projects have been written by Urbamusa, the city developer.

The two sections that have come to bid are:

-The Connection between Nora and access roundabout UCAM-Villages, a length of 772 meters, an execution period of 14 months and a budget of 2.5 million.

-Restructuring of the existing road linking the roundabout to access UCAM-Villages and the North Coast in Guadeloupe, with a length of 1,042 meters, an execution period of 11 months and a budget of 2.7 million euros.

After the adjudication process is expected to commence in the second half of this year.

The North Coast Cabezo Torres joins with The Nora, with a length of 12 kilometers.

The Coastal North and South (from El Palmar to Beniaján) are high capacity roads landscaped median and bike lanes, which are designed to absorb 80,000 vehicles a day.

The projects of these roads have the following characteristics:

-Accessibility: March/2010 fulfilled the Law, which defines the geometry of the fords new pedestrian and the minimum pavement width.

Also adapted the horizontal and vertical signs and the traffic lights.

-Environment: circular roundabouts in LED lighting is an increase in energy efficiency, as well as an increase in road safety.

It includes bike lanes on all legs.

-Road safety: bionda barrier protection for vehicles and protection for motorists in the sections needed.

The vials have wooden fences to protect pedestrians and cyclists.

-Access: Incorporate all existing roads to new paths-directly or by way of service, to leave no isolated area.

Intersections have remained raised in the General Plan to meet present and future.

-Gardening: maintenance of existing landscaping in previous sections with artificial turf.

On the sidewalks will be planted mulberry trees and native species at roundabouts.

-Coordination with other agencies: meetings were held and information coordination with Ministry of Development, Ministry of Public Works and Planning, Culture, Segura basin and Commonwealth Taibilla Channel, in addition to the usual and with suppliers services (Iberdrola, EMUASA, Natural Gas, Government of Landowners, Enagas, post office, etc..).
