Ethnography, Culture and Tradition celebrates its seventh edition]

The Photo Contest.

Murcia.

Ethnography, culture and traditions and calls its seventh year, is now fully consolidated.

Throughout these years, the contest has met that objective to enhance the knowledge of our cultural heritage among citizens, to make them participants in the study process and graphic documentation of it.

Hundreds of citizens / photographers have participated in the various calls, and have been discovering places and scenes of Murcia culture that undoubtedly help to know us better and, therefore, to value the identity.

The City of Murcia has always maintained the link between the garden and the city, between the districts and the town center as it is fully aware that without this constant dialogue does not exist in the township.

All images that have participated in this contest are part of the cultural history of Murcia, all tell us about the work, parties, architecture, agriculture, killing, the pilgrimage, and so on., The field of garden and the city ultimately our cultural heritage.

They are photos of amateur and professional photographers, young and old, men and women who want their pictures to document events and places they know well, times spent in the social environment we backbone.

It is a shared history.

Throughout these years, the architecture, cultural landscapes, architecture, water-related cultural landscapes and regional biological diversity have been the main themes of the various editions.

With them, the current picture and historical photography.

The councilman of Culture, Rafael Gomez Carrasco, presents this new edition, like previous ones, aims to encourage artistic creativity, document and disseminate our traditions and collect existing photos in family archives, capturing images of our historical memory.

This seventh edition will have as its main theme parties and rituals that occur annually throughout the Region of Murcia.

The contest is open to anyone over 18, resident in Spain.

The deadline for submission of photographs is until May 25, 2012.

And there are six awards, two for each of the three modes of competition:

- Method A.

The festivals and rituals in the Region of Murcia

- Category B.

Current picture on ethnographic heritage

- Mode C.

Historic photograph.

Collection of old photographs from family archives that constitute ethnographic documents.

Photos can be performed with analog or digital camera.

May not be photomontages.

The competition is organized by the Space Mills dependent río_Caballerizas Department of Culture.
