The proposal for Progress and Democracy Union in requesting that the City of Murcia urge the Government to develop a National Law that joint custody is a general rule in cases of divorce and separation is approved with the votes of Murcia UPyD and popular and socialist groups, while IU-The Greens voted against.
The initiative, championed in Parliament by Councilman José Antonio Sotomayor, calls for the development of a statewide law, to regulate and harmonize the legal responsibility of both parents in the care of minor children throughout the country, ensuring equal rights of all citizens.
This initiative included in the electoral program of UPyD, wants to ensure that the prime interest of the child to continue their education and daily life counting with both parents and their families.
To form magenta, the principle of co-parenting in cases of separation and divorce should be the general rule, whenever possible.
