A study published in the journal "Grand Tour", published by the School of Tourism at the University of Murcia, suggests the need to support the enhancement of tourism to places of geological interest available to the Region of Murcia.
The research, conducted by Professor Millán Escriche Mercedes says that "the region can set a bid geotourism around rock art resources and natural-geological heritage."
In analyzing the latter property, the study indicates that in the Autonomous Community of Murcia have been inventoried seventy-five geological attractions, among which the ravine Gebas (at the foot of Sierra Espuña), the river Segura in its wake Almadenes the Canyon and the Strait of Bolvonegro in Moratalla.
Escriche Millan says that "the enhancement of resources and subsequent functionalization of tourism will require the involvement of scientists, teachers and qualified guides to what to count on the cooperation of local and regional administrations."
