The Socialist Group will require to be planted before House Valcárcel and EFA to defend the interests of the residents of Murcia (21/03/2012)

PSOE spokesman, Peter Lopez, said the municipality can not continue to be the battleground for clashes between different factions of the PP, because it is the citizens are paying more than the negative consequences of the ongoing bus strike

PSOE spokesman, Pedro Lopez, defend a motion in Parliament next week demanding the mayor House that, as vice president of the Public Transport Authority (EFA), is planted with Valcárcel with the aim of defending the interests of the residents Murcia.

"They are citizens who still suffer nightmares of public transport entrenched by the differences between House and Valcárcel," said Lopez, who says he "can not be that every now and then we find a bus strike, whose background is always the same problem, lack of understanding between the council, the CARM and EFA ".

If the city of Murcia, he says, as city officials say, is meeting Latbus cash commitments, can not be the municipality in which those differences are in dispute and can not be that Murcia and workers business are the ones paying for these problems.

Defaults EFA and other municipalities

In this sense, Lopez explained that the Public Transport Authority, an agency within the CARM, owed € 1.1 million in grants in 2011 and other municipalities and Sewer are not current.

"If you owe money to EFA Latbus, the City should be required to meet its debts with the same attitude strong showing against the operating company," said Lopez, who insisted upon the fact that "if in fact we do not owe anything and to in payment, the residents of Murcia can not continue to suffer the consequences of bad management. "

Single bond

Another proposal that Lopez raised at the motion refers to the need to negotiate with the EFA implementation of a single bond, currently only includes the launch of a bond compatible urban and tram lines, dependent City Hall.

"If it implements the one-time bonus, all citizens, the city and the districts may be used interchangeably intercity lines, urban and tram, without the need for more discrimination between residents in the urban center and who living out of it, "said Lopez.

Compensation for users

Finally, the Socialist spokesman also asked that the public transport monthly bonuses are extended for the days that could not be used by users as a consequence of the strike.
