The City Council extended the measures to support families without resources to deal with the crisis (20/03/2012)

The plenary rejected the motion of the opposition to amend the tax ordinances based on income because "it is not legal, it is unreasonable and not fair"

In tough times, the city of Murcia has adopted new measures to support citizens, especially those who need more help: the unemployed, poor families, large families, pensioners and groups of special protection.

This policy of care involves the City stop sign 28 million euros in tax benefits.

This amount must be added another 26.7 million euros more than -7.6% in 2011 - intended by the Local Administration to protect the most disadvantaged groups by providing free or largely funded by the Department Social Welfare.

In addition, the social fund created through Aguas de Murcia brings another 200,000 per year to grants.

Extraordinary plenary held today has approved a proposal of the government team, additional steps to facilitate the payment of municipal taxes in these difficult times, allowing more comfortable and staggered terms.

Specifically, the decision provides support to citizens, while ratifying the tax credits in place, other developments:

IBI Payment in 4 installments: an additional 25% in each of the following dates: May 1, July 1, October 1 and December 1.

Also extended deadlines for the grant of payment by installments, which shall be as follows:

Debts from 50 euros to 2,999 euros, up to one year

Debts from 3000 euros to 6999 euros up to 18 months

Debts from 7000 euros up to 24 months.

Increasing the amount of the amount for which fractionation is not required providing support of the current 23,000 euros to 30,000 euros.

Furthermore, the City Council will conduct a campaign on all measures of current pay and negotiate with financial institutions to establish collaborative agreements to facilitate assistance to Murcia to meet their municipal tax obligations.

Regarding the differences arising in the provision of property tax revenues, this will not be known until the tax is actually collected, which will occur in the fourth quarter.

The change in the tax ordinance proposed by the opposition has been rejected because "it is not legal, it is unreasonable and would not be fair."

The reality is that taxes can not be introduced tax benefits based on income criteria, which is legal to raise rates and public prices.

Sports facilities:

Discounts on educational activities for pensioners, large families and disabled

Bonus rental of sports

Discounts on bonds summer pools

Nursery schools: reduced rate in the educational service and dining for incomes below 2,105 euros

Moreover, maintaining the tax rebates:

Property Tax:

Large families (1 st class, 50%, 2 nd c., 90% and 1st cat. And OPV, 75%)

Housing P.

Official: 50%

Vehicles

Disability: 100%

Historic vehicles: 100%

Appreciation: 95% bonus for heritage

Economic Activities:

Bonus 50% 3/5 first years

Cooperatives: 95%

Incomes below EUR 1 million: free

Besides all the above tax benefits, spending policies of the City Council are intended to protect those most disadvantaged, so that there are many budgetary allocations for social spending in the budget of 2012 amounted to 26.7 million euros , an increase of 7.68%.
