About 3,000 runners from 22 countries will gather in the Half Marathon City of Murcia (15/03/2012)

The test will be held on March 18, from 10 am

About 3,000 runners from 22 countries will vie for the XXXIII edition of Murcia City Half Marathon to be held on Sunday March 18.

Departure will be on Avenida Pio Baroja, poolside Infante, at 10.00 and ends in the same place.

The circuit is new and is ideal for this type of racing, running through streets broad and straight avenues all asphalt.

It is designed to be fast and mostly flat, accredited by the RFEA.

Riders may choose to participate in the Half Marathon (21,097 meters) making the entire circuit twice, or just walk around the circuit (about 10 Km).

The race is organized by the Athletics Club Murcia, with the collaboration of the Sports Department of the City of Murcia and Hipercor.

The registration period has closed.

This time, 2,602 people have enrolled in half marathon and 420 in the first round.

In 2011, 2,223 were enrolled in the race and 334 in the first round, of which 1,818 completed the half marathon and 305 the first round.

The route is: John Doe, Infante Don Juan Manuel to bridge Vistabella, Infante Avenue to Bridge Hospital, Ronda de Garay, Lieutenant Flomesta, Gran Via, C / Maestro Alonso, Santa Clara, Alfonso X to the Round, Gutierrez Mellado, Jose Tapia Sanz, Antonete Galvez, The Fame (to Atalayas), Antonete Galvez, Dr. Tapia Sanz, Gutierrez Mellado, Alfonso X to the Round, Alfonso X to Santo Domingo, James I, Gran Via, Lieutenant Flomesta, Ronda de Garay, Bridge Hospital, Infante Juan Manuel to bridge Red Cross, Pablo Neruda, San Juan de la Cruz, and Pio Baroja.

The second round has the same route except from the bridge of the hospital and arrive in the square of Volunteers, C / Princesa, Proclamation, Antonio Hernandez of Eagle, Alameda de Colón, Priests Brothers Ceron, Princess, Pablo Neruda and to the finish .

There will be three service areas, Sports Hall Juan Manuel Infante, where there will be parking, showers and changing rooms, massage, drug testing, dorsal delivery area, exit area, PA system, medical services, primary care, as with distribution of soft drinks .

In addition, there will be three aid stations at José Tapia Sanz and John Doe.

It comprises 141,600 euros in prize money and gifts for the winners.
