The University of Murcia has organized, from 13 to 15 March, the XIV International Congress of the Spanish Society of Italianists, entitled "Traces of the past in contemporary Italian culture."
During these days, the Chamber of Arts, Merced campus, teachers will welcome members of the Society and researchers interested in Italian philology, who made contributions on the theme of the Congress.
After the opening ceremony, which was today, Tuesday, March 13, the rector of the University of Murcia, Jose Antonio Cobacho, has opened in the Law Faculty of the photo exhibition "Journey in Italy without time," Professor of the institution and coordinator of the organizing committee of Congress, Luis Pedro Ladron de Guevara.
The exhibition is a collection of photographs that Professor Ladron de Guevara has done in his many trips to the country and is accompanied by trans poems in Italian, Spanish and Greek.
Previously exposed in the cities of Thessaloniki (Greece), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Nicosia (Cyprus), in addition to Italian Turin and Catania, the exhibition got the prize-nymph Galatea Lido di Ciclopi.
The opening ceremony was also attended by José María Jiménez, dean of the Faculty of Arts, Fausto Diaz, president of the Spanish Society of Italianists, and Pascual Martinez, manager of the Cajamurcia Foundation, which sponsors the event.
