The IU-Green spokesman in Murcia, Esther Herguedas, said today that the cessation of the 17 urban bus routes by Latbus is "a consequence of the privatization and the lack of coordination between regional and municipal administrations."
According Herguedas, the City "look the other way, maintains a precarious public transportation and prevents the exercise of a right of citizenship such as mobility," instead of "fighting for that transportation is the backbone of municipal policies" .
Therefore stressed the need to move towards municipalization of public transport "allow management to social performance criteria, not economic, ensuring the people a range of services already provided many services in Spain and Europe."
"He is playing with the right to mobility of citizens of the municipality of Murcia," he concluded.
