The Altarpiece of Maese Pedro, directed by Enrique Lanza, is based on the text (almost literally) to Chapter 26 of the second part of the Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha.

It's just the chapter in which D.

Quixote attend a puppet show where the characters Gaiferos Don, Don Roland, Emperor Charlemagne and the beautiful Melisendra-kidnapped by King Marsilio-star in a story of chivalry.

Etc. The company with its staging of The Altarpiece of Maese Pedro also seeks to reinterpret and revise, in our time, medieval and Baroque iconography, while they are trying to idealize or / and reinvent as little known medieval titeresca.

The Altarpiece of Maese Pedro is not a puppet show to use, he pointed Yanisbel Victoria Martinez, since it is a colossal staging, in which two planes can be seen with puppets of various types and sizes.
