The University of Murcia on Saturday morning and hosts the Olympics Regional Geography and Informatics, aimed at the dissemination and promotion of these issues among secondary school students from the region.
The Geography Olympiad will be held tomorrow, Friday 9, at 10:00 pm in the University Community Centre, Espinardo campus and in the same second-year students participate in any public school high school, entered or private, which face a written exam with content relevant to the agenda of selectivity.
Organized by the Association of Geographers in Spain in collaboration with the University and the Ministry of Education, the winners of the Olympics will come to the phase state on behalf of the Region of Murcia, which will take place in Alicante during April.
Similarly, for the Saturday, March 10, the School of Computer Olympiad has been organized in the categories of tools, programming and projects, and will feature over 100 participants.
The programming mode will face students solve problems using a programming language, while the tools may make use of spreadsheets and text editors.
In the form of computer projects contestants will submit a draft drawn in order to assess the ingenuity, originality and use of information technology.
The programming contest winners will again represent the Region in Spanish Computer Olympiad, where students have managed to Murcia in the past three gold medals and one bronze.
The Olympics, now in its V edition, has the support of business La Opinión de Murcia, the Seneca Foundation, 4SIMA, PC Components, Aeroquino, VO Computing, busuu.com, PRONET, Neosistec, Toshiba, Coca-Cola, and Hero Hurtaplas .
