Environment invites Murcia to travel the Northwest Greenway from Alguazas to Espinardo (07/03/2012)

Next Sunday, on a guided tour, from 9.45 to 17 hours

The Department of the Environment proposes to Murcia this weekend for a new walking route.

This time the participants will delve, next Sunday, the Northwest Greenway to walk the stretch between the town of Alguazas and Espinardo Campus, counting the activity in collaboration with the Tourist Consortium and Northwest Greenway Alguazas City Council.

The route will be held from 9.45 to 17 hours.

The route of the Greenway between Murcia and Mula was recently conditioning, which provides over 75 miles of continuous non-motorized Ecotourism Route to go from the capital to the Holy City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through the joint municipalities and diverse scenery in it.

The route proposed for Sunday has an approximate length of about 8 kilometers, and its gentle slope makes it possible to perform easily.

On the way stops will be made at points of interest, to meet relevant aspects of the environment we visit, and to regain strength.

The indicative program is as follows:

• Sign the 9.45 to 10 h reception will take participants enrolled in the Square of Spain (Murcia) and the presentation of the activity.

Departure by bus to Alguazas.

• About 10.30 pm we arrive at Old Alguazas Tower, a medieval fortified building (XII - XIV) declared of cultural interest, which we know the history of this place through the tour their exhibitions.

• From the Tower we will walk in the traditional garden Alguazas the river Mula to the Mirador of The Spot, at the confluence of the rivers Mula and Safe.

In this we can discover some of the elements that give meaning to the landscape, and we will stop to regain strength.

• Continuing north the meander describing the Segura River cross the bridge located in Los Beltranes to enter the municipality of Molina and resume the route of the Greenway in this town, near the Old Station, and the height of the new Museum and Interpretation Center of the Enclave of the Arab Wall (MUDEM).

• The Way will lead, among other sites of Molina, in the Chapel of Consolation and the former Station Ribera de Molina, and cross the Boulevard of the furnaces and the Acequia Mayor.

• After passing the Ribera de Molina, definitely leave the garden, to get into more arid landscapes with some reliefs and gullied.

• Crossing the Chalk of the Valencian we go into the town of Murcia.

We will use the rest area located at the Air Cabezo to eat, and just over 1 km from Campus Espinardo end of our journey.

Any interested party may participate but places are limited.

The environmental guide will greet participants at the Glorieta de Spain, from where will the bus.

The path cost is only five euros (free for children under 17 years and over 65).

As set out recommendations to bring mountain sports footwear and clothing for the activity, lunch / dinner (on routes) and water.

To reserve a place and formalize entries must follow the following steps:

Information and confirmation of place: call ahead to 968 21 25 18 to confirm the reservation fee.

2.

Application forms: make a deposit of 5 euros Cajamurcia.

CCC: 2043 - 0001 - 26 - 2081-000187 (City of Murcia), indicating name / participant and the path to make (free for children under 17 years and over 65).

3.

Submit copy of the deposit slip by fax (968 21 41 99) or email to info@ecopatrimonio.es, within 5 working days after confirmation of a place.
