The Visitor Center San Cayetano enters its final stretch with the hiring of furnishings (26/08/2011)

The Visitor Center of San Cayetano in Monteagudo, has entered its final stretch with the hiring of furnishings.

The civil works of the building is fully completed and will shortly begin with the museological and installation of furniture.

The new center will open to the public early next year.

The Autonomous Region has approved a grant of 170,000 euros for the Tourist Consortium 'Murcia, Crossroads', for the museological and consolidation of the archaeological site of San Cayetano.

This Visitor Center is able to know the different pieces found in archaeological excavations in the area, the history of the plain and HUERTA DE MURCIA, palaces and walled enclosures as well as Roman and Arab past environment.

In addition, the center can be seen remains of the Roman road that linked Cartagena Fortuna.

In order to recover the Monteagudo Castle and its surroundings, the Consortium 'Crossroads' has presented to the Autonomous Community the Recovery Plan for the Castle of Monteagudo and Castillejo, in order to obtain funding through the Cultural 1%.

San Cayetano will become part of the Visitor Centres Network of City Hall, built by the Great Wall of Santa Eulalia, San Antonio Light and the Poor.

These interpretive centers that highlight different aspects of the past of the town.

In the case of Santa Eulalia, visitors can see the wall surrounding Murcia and its history.

Poor San Antonio is located in a former chapel in El Valle, and reveals the lives of hermits and the Visitors Center of Light offers a tour of the various inhabitants of El Valle, from the Iberians to the present and the history of mountaineering Murcia.

Recovery of a windmill in the garden
