Eleven groups will flood the streets with his art in the 44th edition of the International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean (17/08/2011)

Taiwan, Togo, Netherlands, Colombia and Albania will be present along with folk groups Murcia, Lorca, Aragon and Asturias

Eleven groups will participate this year in 44 Festival of Folklore in the Mediterranean, the event this country's oldest.

The festival declared of Regional Tourist Interest, will feature in folk groups of Murcia, Lorca, Aragon, Asturias and countries such as Taiwan, Togo, Netherlands, Colombia and Albania.

Sample folklore, exhibitions, evening Trovera, films, fashion shows, seminars and exhibitions in places are some of the activities proposed.

The festival will be held from 5 to 9 September.

The act of lighting of the Torch of Friendship will be held on September 6, at 19.30 in the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

Upon completion, participants will groups parade through the streets of the city (Santo Domingo, Tatters, Plaza de la Cruz, and Belluga Salzillo).

On Thursday, September 8, at 1230 hours, participants made an offering of flowers to the Virgen de la Fuensanta in the Cathedral.

The festival will end on Friday, September 9, at 21 am with the Parade of Friendship (Santo Domingo, La Merced, Santo Cristo and University Place), and the closing session in the University Square, from the 21.30.

Participating groups are: Songs and Dances of Murcia Regional Association 'Francisco Salzillo' (Murcia), Cho-shui River Art Dance Ensemble (Taiwan); Ballet Balafon (Togo), Coros y Danzas de Lorca (Lorca - Murcia); " Hengelo Spöllers in Daansers' (Netherlands), Chorus and Dance Association Jovellanos (Gijón - Asturias); yore.

Folk Integration Colombiana (Colombia); folk group "La Parra" St. Basil the Great (Murcia), Friends of the Arts Association Jota de Teruel (Aragón) AS Folk Tirana (Albania) and Grupo Folklorico 'Virgen de la Vega '(Murcia).

In addition, the traditional planned outdated cycle, which is held in the courtyard of City Museum, at 24 hours, and that is the reading of poems and literary texts from various authors of all time.

The series is coordinated by Soren Peñalver.

Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean, led by Manuel Fernández Delgado, acts as an integrating element between the different federations and associations of folklore.

All participating groups become ambassadors of Murcia.
