210 young Murcia, between 13 and 25, have lived a unique experience this summer playing in one of the thirty youth exchanges abroad organized by the Department of Youth, directed by Miguel Cascales.

This year we have chosen twelve destinations, which are Poland, Belgium, France, Slovakia, Germany, Finland, Romania, Estonia, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Italy and Portugal.

Each exchange has different themes such as folklore, Europe, Summer Rock, circus, an adventure in nature, exploring the forests of Finland, 27th International Week of Music, sports, manga, consumption and savings, art, archeology.

This edition highlights the initiative 'Unite for Sport', held in collaboration with ONCE, who participated in the blind youth of Murcia, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Hungary and France, which took place in Romania 15 to 25 July.

The exchanges began in June and ends this month, with a duration ranging between five and twenty days.

The aim in these exchanges for young people is to encourage knowledge of other languages, learn new skills and foster intercultural understanding of the European Union countries.

Also, young people from other countries improve their knowledge of Spain and Murcia, and practice Spanish.

These breaks in different countries, sharing activities and youth living with other cities.

This program is not young families sharing if not gatherings of young people participating in projects promoted by the city of Murcia and other municipalities or entities.

Over 6,000 youth have participated

The Municipal Exchange Plan was launched in 1996 and since then has involved more than 6,000 young people.

These activities, mostly financed by the European Union, promotes the formation mobility of young people because, as attested to studies, young Europeans with such experiences in their youth are more likely to be mobile in future working life, increasing employment opportunities.
