Education carries out repair work on 16 schools taking advantage of the summer (14/08/2011)

The repairs, which will be completed before classes begin, have a cost of 356,000 euros, financed by the city and region.

In the fourth quarter will continue the plan to eliminate graffiti.

Sixteen schools are involved in repairs and maintenance to begin the course in perfect condition to receive students and teachers.

The performances, which will last until the end of August, have a budget of 356,000 euros for the most part take place in schools in villages.

Specifically, the schools affected by the works are Our Lady of Cortes-Nonduermas, Christ-Torreagüera Valley-Holy Christ of the Mercy-Murcia, Santo Angel Lasheras-Javalí Hellín Old-Master-The Dolores Enrique Laborda - Our Lady of La Alberca-Fuensanta, Ntra Sra de Tears-head Torres, Sacred Heart-Sucina Zeneta-Arteaga, and Moreno-Gonzalez Aljucer Sculptor.

The cost of repairs amounted to just over 180,000 euros and the work carried out relating to both civil works and installation of oil tanks or accountants as coatings and sanitation repair, replacement of flooring, blinds and woodwork arrangements or Roofing, among others.

Also made improvements to the exterior of the centers, in most cases consist of placing non-slip flooring, cladding repairs, demolition of curbs and tree pits, cleaning sand patios or under fences.

In addition to the planned actions in these centers in five other schools almost 176,000 euros will be invested between the Autonomous Community and the City to perform maintenance and repair.

In this case, it centers Zarandona San Felix, San José de Calasanz Stables, Francisco Salzillo Los Ramos, Juan XXIII The Ranero and Our Lady of Peace Murcia.

The Councillor for Education, María Dolores Sánchez, stressed the importance of carrying out these actions "allow the school to enjoy an environment suitable for educational activities, with some centers that meet the appropriate conditions, comfortable and safe."

Sanchez has also highlighted the "economic effort that year, and despite the crisis, we conducted both the City Council and the Autonomous Community to ensure the maintenance of schools."

Paint and graffiti

Nearly half a million euros earmarked 535,000 euros this year the City in the plan of eliminating graffiti on the walls of public schools in the districts and villages.

The program, developed in the first half, at a cost of 312,000 euros, will continue from September, with an estimated budget of 190,000 euros.

In the campaign of painting, the Department of Education has proceeded to repaint sockets in the classrooms of children from all schools.
