The Department headed by Miguel Cascales launches an ambitious revitalization to attract visitors to tourist all year round Murcia will count with the collaboration of several Councillors, Autonomous Community and Convention Bureau, universities, and companies Hostemur tourism and services

The Department of Tourism is launching an innovative project to consolidate Murcia as a tourist destination throughout the year.

This is 'Murcia 365', a revitalization plan that will make a diagnosis of current tourism landscape in order to implement initiatives to promote tourism in Murcia.

Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, explained that this project will be led by the Department of Tourism and a transverse part because other Councillors and Trade, Environment, Public Roads, Sports, Culture and Celebrations, the Autonomous Region Office Congress of the City of Murcia, UMU Universities and UCAM Hostemur, traders and culture, entertainment and events, among many others.

Work has begun in July to analyze the current situation of tourism in Murcia and the impact of the brand 'Murcia'.

They are studying the weaknesses and threats of our tourism, as well as strengths and develop tourism opportunities in the municipality.

The study results will be available later this year.

In addition, the field will differ between domestic and international tourism and study the needs of each visitor.

The goal is to turn a landmark tourist Murcia, 365 days a year, promoting and strengthening the brand 'Murcia'.

The study will aim to develop a marketing plan that will affect ten lines of action, which are:

-Promote the image of Murcia in social networks

-Influence the Quality Tourism sectors involved in tourism

-Restructuring the local Tourist Information Points

Carry-out stocks with tour operators (tour operators) and travel agencies

-To promote the presence of Murcia in specialized media

-Develop packages (offers and discounts at hotels, shops, restaurants, etc)

-Publicize the holidays and traditions of Murcia

-To promote the holding of congresses, events and town hall meetings

Develop an active tourism, rural, with an emphasis on vegetable gardens and orchards and sustainable development

-To promote the concept 'Murcia in August', with the spread of cultural and leisure activities, summer events, etc..
