The University of Murcia has been the Innovation Unit, which replaced the Office of convergence, once completed and the process of adaptation to Bologna.
The unit, under the Department for International Relations and Innovation, will work on the implementation of new methodologies for both teachers and pupils alike, and the promotion of innovation and educational research.
The rector of International Relations and Innovation, Pilar Arnaiz, spoke at the launch of Unit web portal for leading this project, as the virtual classroom, which promotes education in network supported by information technologies and (ICT).
The Unit will also promote the teaching of English for the internationalization of the University and working on the development of technologies that contribute to education.
Also work with all services and administrative units of the educational institution for the coordination of initiatives and projects for educational innovation.
The rector Arnaiz was a review of some of the experiences of innovation already in place, as the online tutorial, which allows teachers to attend to students through virtual tutorials, open course ware or free Internet access to educational materials.
On the open course ware, the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, recalled that the University of Murcia has won the 2009 and 2010 editions of the national awards which recognize the best courses.
Cobacho applauded the work done in the Vice President and regretted the departure of Pilar Arnaiz, who is stepping down for personal reasons.
During the event, developed in convalescence, it unveiled the new website of the Unit, which will operate as a basic tool for the management of all projects carried out in the Service.
