Trade 62 products recalled hazardous facilities in the municipality (24/07/2010)

Toys, small appliances, clothing for adults and childcare articles are some of the objects removed by the Department of Commerce, run by Antonio Castillo, over 2009 in several places to Murcia for deficiencies that could pose risks to health or security.

Over the past year, the City of Murcia followed up to 62 products on which the National Consumer Institute gave the warning.

These warnings were met by 165 inspections, which was achieved recall 89 items unfit for use or consumption within the parameters of Community law.

Considering the number of actions, we stopped the sale of 19 types of toys, adult clothes, 13, 10 kinds of small household appliances, 7 lights, 6 childcare articles, 2 of kitchenware and the rest, sports and leisure equipment sports, children's clothing and electrical equipment.

The causes of action to remove these products from the market were risk of skin allergy, choking, wounds, trapping fingers, electric shock, possible carcinogenic effects, bottlenecks, skin irritation, injury, burns and chemical risk.

Among the objects were located sets of pacifiers, strollers, shoes, sports clothing and boots, curling hair, fancy dress fairy, princess, polar bear and clown with felt paper dolls, spinning tops, extension cord 3 meters that were of security risk for overheating, desk lamps, European adapters and toasters.

Once detected these products act on the manufacturer, importer or distributor for the European Union.

After obtaining a commitment to return all units of product, the manufacturer, importer or supplier must provide the list of clients who have acquired to expand the relevant proceedings.

This is the third year that the city of Murcia shared with the regional administration in the region these skills to locate and recall of objects that can be dangerous to consumers.

Thus, the municipal inspection service carried out actions to recall the products considered unfit for marketing by the danger they pose to users and consumers.

Inspectors of the inspection service of the City of Murcia consumption made visits to places of wholesale and retail distribution in which there is evidence that these products are sold.
