The Governing Council of the University of Murcia has adopted an austerity plan aimed at saving encryption 6.6 million euros in the period between 2010-2014, which represent 2.62% of the budget.
One of the most striking chapters of the Plan will be closed during the month of August, those centers located both on the Campus of Espinardo as the de la Merced where possible and that would mean an annual savings estimated at 250,000 €.
This plan, presented to the Governing Council by the Vice Chancellor for Economic and Infrastructure, Antonio Calvo-Flores, also involves the centralization of services, recycling of materials and furniture and centralized purchasing to reduce costs of services and supplies.
It also provides for the optimization of human resources of the university, the protocol reduced costs and achieving greater efficiency in spending.
The vice president said that given the situation of economic crisis facing the country, the University must be a reference to society in the implementation of cost saving measures.
Furthermore, the Governing Council has approved the annual accounts of last year and the request for authorization to the Autonomous Region for the implementation of undergraduate, Masters and Doctorate for next year, among other issues.
