The mayor of Citizens Carlos Peñafiel defend two initiatives in the plenary session on Thursday calling for the implementation of a permanent unit of forest monitoring and relief in the municipality of Murcia, especially for the summer season, as well as the creation of a unit drones against robberies and fires in the districts, orchard and mountain areas.

Regarding the permanent forest monitoring unit, Peñafiel will ask the local government to carry out a study to determine which forest and natural areas are frequented by more people and where there is a greater possibility of accidents and fires occurring.

"From this study, the most susceptible areas will be marked so that the future permanent surveillance unit can act in a preventive manner and perform surveillance tasks," he said.

As for the unit of drones against robberies and fires, the mayor of the orange formation has recalled that the parliamentary group of Cs already brought to the regional Assembly a proposal in this regard that was approved in November 2016. "At this point no nothing has been done, while the waves of robberies continue to happen in our municipality, "he lamented.

For this reason, Peñafiel will request in the Plenary the local government to urge the regional government to comply with the agreement of the regional Assembly so that, finally, the creation of this unit against robberies and fires in Murcia can be made effective.
