About 2,5000 schoolchildren enjoy the play "Mariana Pineda" thanks to the program "Behind the Curtain" (28/02/2018)

The program "My city teaches" of the Department of Education, directed by Rafael Gómez, has turned the Circus Theater of Murcia into a tool of great youth appeal for enjoyment of leisure and free time.

An element to introduce various topics of debate in the classroom that derive from the theatrical representation.

The councilman has accompanied hundreds of schoolchildren this morning in an activity encompassed in the program "Behind the Curtain" that aims to offer adolescents a program of cultural training activities and a change of attitudes, using as a procedure, the theatrical representation through of staging, expression and dramatic play.

The work represented yesterday and today is "Mariana Pineda" with the intention of knowing and investigating the character, its historical and poetic moment of the work of Federico García Lorca, and is addressed to students of 3rd, 4th of ESO and 1st and 2nd of Bachillerato.

This is intended to share a playful and social act with classmates, appreciating and valuing the theater as a source of cultural formation, visualizing related or parallel realities to the individual reality, raising awareness of any social and interpersonal conflict through the theatrical conflictive representation , promote training and a change of attitudes through this theatrical representation.

"This activity allows us to promote the debate about the figures of the characters that appear on the scene and the conception of the world they embody." Knowing literature through the theater Marian Pineda's work by Federico García Lorca offers the opportunity to appreciate the many possibilities from which a classic on the stage can be presented today ", explained Rafael Gómez.

Between yesterday and today about 2,500 secondary and high school students have enjoyed this activity.

The participating centers have been Ana María Matute, of Era Alta, San Vicente Ferrer and School Team, of the Progreso District, San Lorenzo, of Tocinos Bridge, Torresalinas, of Aljucer, Alquibla, of La Alberca, Marqués de los Vélez, of El Palmar, Salesiano Don Bosco and Rector Francisco Sabater Goyanes, of Cabezo de Torres, The Basilica, of Algezares, Cipriano Galea, of La Ñora, Montepinar of El Esparragal, Monte Miravete of Torreaguera, Sangonera la Verde, as well as the IES El Carmen, IES Floridablanca, IES Juan Carlos I, IES Miguel Espinosa, IES Saavedra Fajardo, Nª Sª of Consolation, La Milagrosa, La Flota, Cristo Rey, El Buen Pastos, Herma, Mariano Baquero, of Murcia.
