UMU professor Rosa María Ros Espín will speak today about Mediterranean botanical diversity (29/01/2018)

Today, Monday, January 29, at 7:30 p.m., Rosa María Ros Espín, Professor at the University of Murcia in the Department of Plant Biology, will give a presentation entitled "Surprising botanical diversity in Mediterranean areas: mosses and related plants".

It will be in the Cultural Area Room of El Corte Inglés.

Admission is free until full capacity.

It is a new appointment of the cycle "The UMU and Scientific Culture", organized by the Scientific Culture Unit of the University of Murcia.

Mosses are terrestrial plants that often go unnoticed due to their small size.

The main researcher of the Systematic Molecular, Phylogeography and Conservation in Briófitos Rosa María Ros Espín will explain the characteristics of these small plants, what differentiates them from other terrestrial plants, their appearance, where we can observe them in the Region of Murcia and in other arid places of the Mediterranean basin, how they can survive in adverse conditions and what surprises await their study today.
