The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, has denounced today that the City Council "still does not respect" the current regulations on the use of inclusive language, demonstrating that the PP "makes a partisan use" when applying the laws in function of if they are consistent with their ideology.

Specifically, Guerrero has referred to state and regional regulations aimed at the implementation of a non-sexist language in the administrative sphere, both in the internal functioning of public administrations and in the documents issued by them.

In this sense, he explained that there are "big differences" between what the PP "preaches" in its statements in favor of equality, and what then leads to practice.

"There is no agreement between one thing and another, and this denotes the lack of commitment on your part in this matter," he added.

This situation takes place in spite of the fact that in July 2016, a year and a half ago, the Corporation approved a motion of Cambiemos Murcia that became an institutional declaration in which all the groups were committed to ensuring the use of non-language sexist.

Guerrero has described as "especially striking" the case of the service of Citizen Attention and Information, whose nomenclature, as can be seen in the brochures, still ignores more than 50 percent of the population although there are alternatives of an inclusive nature.

This service depends on the Councilor for Modernization of the Administration, which shows the lack of transversality in terms of equality in the policies promoted by this government team, "he said.

For the councilor, it is "shocking" that even a few days were organized with Mercedes Bengoechea, Professor of Linguistics at the University of Alcalá, and a dossier was developed to avoid sexism in the administrative language in which the Councilor for Social Rights came to write a greeting.

Also the II Municipal Plan of Equality of Opportunities 2018-2019 refers to the need to ensure inclusive language, "but it seems", by the way of proceeding of the government team in this matter, "which is more an idea embodied in a role that a real goal. "
