The Artillery Barracks and the Gates of Castile present their most complete and ambitious programming (27/09/2017)

Around 500 murcians will be able to participate in 25 workshops on theater, cinema, photography, ceramics, architecture ... The smallest will be protagonists of the Artillery Barracks programming with French and English cinema cycles, workshops and storytelling.

The Puertas de Castilla opens its season on Thursday at 20 hours with the exhibition 'Plague & Metamorphosis' by Juanjo Martínez Cánovas and with the Fragility / Fragilities Seminar in collaboration with the University of Murcia

The municipal center Puertas de Castilla and the artillery barracks again offer a complete and diverse schedule that will be developed until next December.

The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, explained that "the relationship between both spaces is consolidated with workshops, seminars, installations, exhibitions, residences, film, photography and children's programming cycles."

More than 100 artists, professionals and professors from different universities in France, Spain, United Kingdom, Argentina, Italy, Belgium, South Africa, USA, Croatia, Scotland, Greece, Germany, Holland, Norway, Finland and Denmark will participate in the projects of both spaces.

Around 500 Murcia will be able to participate in a total of 25 workshops to which will be added the 300 places that will offer the seminars of Fragility and the R + D + I collaborative art and regeneration of urban spaces.

Pacheco explained that "Pavilion 2 of Artillery Barracks returns this new season to promote the creation and dissemination of thought and creative and contemporary culture in the city of Murcia, creating networks between different areas of culture."

The programming proposed for this last quarter of the year will encourage citizens to find a space where they can develop creativity and network with other institutions.

For its part "The Puertas de Castilla Center presents its new programming for the September and December season betting on the most current trends, social and urban, the fusion of disciplines and new artistic languages, as well as those aspects of culture and the necessary and current thinking in our society with different expository proposals, audiovisual facilities, "said the councilman.

Pavilion 2 of the Artillery Barracks

Pavilion 2 of the Artillery Barracks will offer different workshops whose registration will be held tomorrow Thursday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Thus there will be a Basic Workshop of Ceramics, Music Composition, Architecture, Cinema, Clown and Theater.

The smaller ones will have a prominent space with a cinema program in original version, international and all-time stories and workshops of creativity, shadows, cinema and photography.

This will include creative workshops, shadows, photography and film.

In addition, the cycle 'La Petite Maison' will be held, a cycle of animation where the little ones and families can enjoy the best French language cinema in original version subtitled in Spanish.

Also will take place the cycle 'The Small House' with cinema of animation of English language in original version for the biggest and the smallest.

The cycle consists of the best works from English-speaking countries.

Children from 3 to 9 years old can participate in children's storytelling activities on Friday, October 6, November 3 and December 27, starting at 6 pm.

In addition, the headquarters will host the R + D + i project of collaborative art and regeneration of urban spaces is conceived as a series of round tables in which talk about artistic interventions in public spaces in collaboration with its inhabitants, to reflect on the complexity of the contemporary city.

Thus, the cycle 'Basic of China' will offer films that have come to occupy a position in the history of the cinema thanks to its originality, its importance within the artistic development or the language of the cinema or its transcendence within the cinematographic art.

The cycle will consist of three films of great value within the Chinese cinema: Song of midnight;

A Chinese ghost story and Spring in a small town.

Equally will take place the Animan animation cycle for adults, where experimentation and the new hybrid languages ​​are the protagonists.

The different arts such as painting and sculpture merge with the audiovisual and cinematographic arts.

Finally the Cycle Re-think seeks to reflect on values, emotions, thoughts, systems and ways of life.

In addition, the Cultural Volunteer Service, managed at the Artillery Quarry Center, promotes and develops artistic and cultural volunteerism in defense of the growth and sustainability of the city's cultural projects, safeguarding those projects with greater commercial difficulty or with fewer resources for its execution.

It opens the call for all those interested in the great cultural projects of the City of Murcia.

Center Puertas de Castilla

Of the programming of the next months in the Puertas de Castilla highlights the exhibition 'Plague & Metamorphosis' of Juanjo Martínez Cánovas that will be able to visit from tomorrow until the 20 of November

In addition, and in collaboration with researchers Juan Manuel Zaragoza and Cristina Guirao of the University of Murcia, will present the international project Fragility / Fragility, addressing the concept of fragility that has crossed the disciplinary borders and has seen how its use has become common in areas such as medicine, economics, social sciences, political science, or ecology.

In collaboration with the international film magazine Caiman Cuadernos de cine, Puertas de Castilla and the International Film Festival IBAFF have prepared with the programmer Enric Albero different film proposals that will not reach Spain in their commercial circuits.

Thus, as a main dish will be held a seminar with the director, producer, screenwriter and Argentinean film actor Mariano Llinás who made himself known in the cinematographic environment in 2002 with his first film, Balnearios, an ironic and unconventional documentary.

Similarly, the Puertas de Castilla Center is consolidated as a space for research and contemporary artistic creation and begins with the Cyclope Hall a new stage in the formation and dissemination of contemporary photography.

The main objective of this project is to use as a tool the technique of photography to determine the new expressive and experimental modes that arise in the digital age but without neglecting analogue and chemical photography.

Throughout the months of October to December will be given 9 free photography workshops for all those interested in the photography of Introduction to photography;

Photoshop advanced techniques;

Documentary photography;

For their part, artists Diego Lizán and Maria Moya, Muñeco de barro, will offer workshops on Modeling and creation of characters, aimed at illustrators, visual artists and professionals in the artistic sector who want to make their own work in ceramics, and Basic ceramic , aimed at all those interested in entering the art of ceramics.

Those interested in the world of theater will also have their space with workshops given by Laura Miralles on Initiation to the theater, Advanced Theater and Workshop theater work group.

Finally the Sonoteca del Puertas offer the unpublished files of the sound artists and composers Zbigniew Karkowski and Frank Rothkamm

The private collection of the brilliant composer Karkowski has been donated by Francisco Lopez and is made available to all interested public while the artist Frank Rothkamm has also decided to donate his work for enjoyment and above all for the preservation of the personal archive.
