The City of Murcia remembers that after the rains happened the tiger mosquito can return, reason why it recommends the citizens to be alert to detect possible foci of this insect in their addresses.
To prevent the spread of this mosquito, it is important to remember the advice that Murcia City Council transfers to the population such as avoiding containers that can accumulate water, such as buckets or drums, to eliminate water accumulated in different objects and supports, to maintain chlorine levels ponds, fountains of gardens or swimming pools and do not cause flooding in irrigations.
In addition, it is recommended to regularly clean the roof and terrace channels to avoid the reproduction of the tiger mosquito, since every six days a female can lay 80 eggs.
The hours of greater activity of this insect are dusk and dawn, tend to sting in the areas of the body closest to the ground and a single mosquito can sting several times, so it is also recommended to avoid using dark colors, repellents or fabrics mosquito nets
