The PSOE obtains that the budgets of the City council of Murcia contemplate the greater investment in districts of the last years (18/07/2017)

Susana Hernández reiterates that "although the PSOE would make budgets completely different from those of the PP, the easy thing is to sit idly by and say no.It is difficult to negotiate and to start tangible commitments that benefit the Murcia and Murcia"

At the end of last year 2016 the Socialist Municipal Group began to meet with the local government to try to get the municipal budgets for 2017 to contemplate greater investment for the districts, in order to begin to correct inequalities between districts and center and with the aim of That the boards themselves could manage these investments according to what is most urgent or necessary and in such important topics as Education and Children's Schools, Cultural Heritage, shaded areas in schools and gardens, IBI Social, Tourism, Employment, Social Services, Housing and Public Transport, among other areas.

After seven months of negotiations and proposals, the Socialist Group has managed to start the PP a significant change: 20 million euros more than will go to investment in public facilities and improvements in the day to day of Murcia and Murcia.

"It is clear that if the Budgets were from the Socialist Group they would be very different, but how easy it would have been to sit back and say no. The difficult thing is to make numbers, put proposals on the table and negotiate to get tangible commitments from the local government. Benefit our neighbors, "said the spokeswoman of the PSOE in the City of Murcia, Susana Hernández.

Hernández has explained at a press conference that "with the idea of correcting the main inequalities that exist between the districts and the center of the municipality, the PSOE has bet and much to reinforce the decentralization so that this is a reality. The negotiations of the Socialist Group, the municipal boards will have more autonomy, increasing their spending capacity from 3,000 to 5,000 euros, and will have another 1,900,000 euros also for investments and 1,081,000 to increase the item of current expenditure.

In addition, the Socialist Group has managed to see the creation of a Social Welfare item of 250,000 euros as an extraordinary aid for the payment of the IBI, and another 250,000 euros to match the transport bonus between districts and the city;

265,000 euros for tourist signage and more than 550,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the Casa de Antonete Gálvez and Sala Caballerizas and the expansion of the Science Museum, among other issues.

"One of our objectives has been to correct the historical discrimination that has been suffered by the districts for twenty-two years. That is the reason for this, although our budgets will be others, we believe that we have taken the first steps to correct an unjust situation It's too hard, "he added.

The spokeswoman said that, although the Socialist Group has managed to increase the items in Decentralization, Social Services, Education, Employment and Transport, "there are many proposals that have been left out of the agreement and for which we will continue fighting, We are not going to vote yes to budgets that are still very much improved, but we believe that we have made great progress and we must unblock the situation so that the municipal boards can continue with their work and These achievements are a reality, always thinking about our neighbors. "

Hernández has assured that "if the Socialist Group has been involved in the negotiation of these budgets has been in an exercise of responsibility towards our neighbors," and recalled that one of the commitments achieved is the creation of a Commission of Monitoring and Control of the Budget so that everything agreed is fulfilled.

"We have also included the implementation of a working table to develop the model of operation of municipal councils, where it is well defined the figure of the pedáneo and the neighborhood participation."

Other commitments are the creation of shadow areas, first in schools, where 75,000 euros will be invested (in addition to an additional € 100,000 for repairs and € 125,000 for nursery schools), "and we now expect that Shade spread to children's games and for this we have achieved the appropriation of 375,000 euros. "

"The Socialist Group has exercised its responsibility as the main alternative government party: to improve the lives of our neighbors if it is in our hands to do so. We have negotiated and reached agreements for the good of the municipality and we are satisfied with what Achieved although there is still much to do and in that task we continue immersed, "he concluded.
