The Governing Board approved the agreement with the Athletics Federation of the Region for the celebration of this sporting event.

The Governing Board has approved the collaboration agreement between the City of Murcia and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia for the organization and development in Murcia of the Spanish Athletics Cadet Championship 2017.

Murcia will be converted thanks to this agreement in the venue of the Spanish Championship of Cadet Athletics 2017, which will take place on July 1 and 2, with the expected participation of about 700 athletes representing all the Autonomous Communities at Monte Romero Stadium .

This national sporting event constitutes a major tourist promotion for the city of Murcia and an occasion to bring the hobby to the practice of physical activity and sport.

Felipe Coello, Councilor for Sports and Health, has stated that "these events involve putting on the map Murcia as a city overturned with sport and physical activity, which has important repercussions in tourism and sports level."
