Let's change Murcia asks that the demonstration of Lo Nuestro be banned or moved to coincide with the Pride Parade (13/06/2017)

The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, today called on the City Council and the Government Delegation to ban the demonstration of the Lo Nuestro collective next Saturday, "if it proves that it violates the rights of people," or, , Less "to be moved to an alternative space to prevent it from coinciding with the celebration of LGBTIQ Pride".

The mayor expressed concern about the coincidence of date, time and place of concentration with the traditional parade of Pride, "knowing that in the social networks of Lo Nuestro abound violent messages against the collective LGTBIQ."

From the municipal formation recalled that in the last Plenum of the City Council unanimously issued a motion explicitly asking "not to authorize the use of the public space of our municipality to groups that promote hatred and xenophobia."

Although in the case of the demonstrations the City Council is not the one that grants the authorization, the Consistory does have the possibility to present a report to the Delegation of Government "that in this case has not issued," he explained.

In this regard, Guerrero recalled that, "however, the route of the last manifestation of the Green Tide was modified by the Government Delegation for coinciding its departure with the arrival of The Virgin of the Fuensanta, at the request of the Government Team municipal".

"The Popular Party demonstrates once again that it has a double standard to measure depending on the groups that manifest," he concluded.
