The University of Murcia (UMU) has established a permanent university extension in the town of Cehegín, which will allow the inhabitants of this municipality to access cultural and educational activities promoted by the educational institution without having to travel to the capital's campus .
The agreement to create the headquarters was signed yesterday by the rector of the UMU, José Orihuela, and the mayor of the municipality, José Rafael Rocamora, in an event held at the Archaeological Museum of Cehegín.
This event included the inaugural lesson by the professor of Archeology José Miguel Noguera and a piano recital offered by Arturo Abellán.
Cehegín, which will be headed by the professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UMU Salvador Ruiz de Maya, makes the permanent headquarters number 23 of the University of Murcia, said the Vice-Rector of Training and Innovation, Pedro Miralles.
