Cabezo de Torres today paid tribute to the memory of one of his most illustrious neighbors, Ginés Vivancos Navarro, with the discovery of a plaque in his honor in the soccer field of the hamlet that, from today, is called This entrepreneur, "whose commitment and dedication has left an unforgettable trail, which will serve as a reference for the next generations of Torreños," said José Ballesta.

In addition to the mayor of Murcia, the tribute was attended by the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Ramon Luis Valcárcel, the provincial mayor, Francisco Viudes, and one of the daughters of the honoree, Pilar Vivancos, as well as a large number of neighbors, old Cabezo de Torres players who were active when Ginés was the president of the club and two teams of fry.

"In two weeks, next February 11, marks the first anniversary of his death, but the Murcia and especially his neighbors do not forget the tireless and generous work that Ginés developed throughout his life in the hamlet that saw him Born, through a permanent activity that encompassed many facets: social, sports, political, religious ... ", stressed José Ballesta.

Open-minded and outgoing, well-liked by his friends and family, businessman Ginés Vivancos Navarro was very involved in sports.

He was president of the Atlético Club Cabezo de Torres during a decade (from 1995 to 2005) and, later, president of honor of the equipment, as well as vocal of the Federation Murciana of Soccer from 2001 to 2009.

Ginés, who has been the only person to date who has been distinguished with the Golden Shield of Cabezo de Torres, was founder of the Partido Popular Political Formation in the hamlet and exerted his political work like vice-president of the Municipal Board from 1999 until 2015.

He also served as President of the Cabezo de Torres Carnival Association, was Vice-President of the Festival Committee, Vice President of the Social Center for Elders and Butler of Our Lady of Lágrimas, among other responsibilities.
