A doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Murcia (UMU) by Sheriza Binti Mohd has highlighted the impact that human action and climate change have on the destruction of tropical forests.
The conclusions of this research also point out that population growth is the cause of most of the environmental problems that these forests suffer, and considers that a state of opinion should be created aimed at achieving the good development of National Policy on Forests and Biodiversity as a means to address the problem.
The doctoral thesis also deals with the study of the exploitation of these forests and the pollution that comes from agricultural activity, with data referring to the last thirty years.
This scientific work was led by Professors Arnaldo Aitor Marín Atucha of the UMU and Ahmad Ainuddin of the University of Putra (Malaysia).
